projects of Centennial Rotary Club

The Centennial Rotary Club was one of the earliest supporters of the Portneuf Greenway Foundation and the construction of bike trails in the Pocatello foothills. In the early 1990s, we built bridges for trails in the City Creek area and spearheaded Duck Races for the Greenway Foundation. Our Centennial Project was construction of Bistline Partnership Corner at the corner of Arthur and Benton in Pocatello. Here we have xeriscaped plantings designed to have something blooming all year, a kinetic Oregon Trail sculpture, and labelled rocks that teach the geology of the Pocatello area. We also have the "One Foot At A Time" history of the Greenway, which charts the projects and progress of the project. Maintenance and upgrading of this park is one of our main service projects.

Centennial Rotary has also been a long-time supporter of the Idaho State-Civic Symphony. Several of our members have been Presidents of the Symphony Board, and we are a First Chair Sponsor of Tom Banyas in the Trumpet Section.

Recently, we have become supporters of the Pocatello Zoo, and have a planned project to build benches for the Zoo, in keeping with their master plan. Centennial Rotary Charter Member Dr. Jack Mooney is President of the Pocatello Zoological Sociaety Board of Directors..
